Information about the Development Progress.

Hello Olokians,

We hope youre all doing well. Today we have a new development update for you regarding the current closed beta testing phase. Lets take a look together at the current state of development, when an open beta might be available, and whats planned for the near future. Bill, could you explain to the Olokians whats been happening in the last few months?

Ofcourse, Marla! Over the past few months, the Oloko team has been working very hard to add missing features to the brand-new, Flash-free version of Oloko. Among other things, furniture, groups, more quests, digital items (accessories for your Oloko phone), more clothing from the original Oloko, the backyard, missing locations, and more have returned. There were also some cool events, like the big summer party in August.

Yes, that was really cool, Bill! But there are also big updates coming soon, to make a open beta possible, where Oloko will finally be free for everyone. But Nico, tell us more about the next few months.

Of course! The Oloko team has revealed that there will be a huge XXL update again for the closed beta later this year, which will bring back more missing features, gameplay and performance improvements, more clothing, more furniture, bug fixes, and of course, a Christmas Event. Plans for early 2026 include bringing back the trading and selling system, adding minigames, missing and brand-new features, and much more. The team estimates that all these updates will be released during spring 2026 and then plans to launch an open beta where all Oloko players can play without any access restrictions and hopefully experience Oloko as it once was. Only better! ;)

That sounds great! But dont forget, with Closed Beta access you can already play Oloko and follow the Closed Beta development live. These are the current requirements to participate:
-> Have an active Panfu.com account that has reached at least level 10.
-> Have an active Discord account linked to Panfu. (You can also get the access data & rules via the Discord)
-> Own and link a Panfu Patreon membership level 2 (Panfu Explorer) or higher.

We look forward to seeing you and will of course keep everyone else up to date on important news on the Oloko X (Twitter) account and in the Oloko blog.

Our answers to your questions

Hello Olokians,

In our last blog post, we gave you the opportunity to ask us and the team questions about the Oloko comeback. Today, wed like to try to answer some of those questions. Please dont be discouraged if your question didnt make it this time; weve received more questions than we ever imagined. Lets start with the first question you asked:

Is it possible for me to use my old Oloko account again?
Unfortunately, its not possible to use accounts from the original Oloko. Youll need to create a new account or use your Panfu.com account.

Is there any information about when Oloko will be playable? / When will the closed beta end?
Oloko is already playable as a closed beta. The requirements for participation can always be found at the bottom of the current blog post. But what about an open beta? I asked the team, and they told us the following: "We are working hard on reprogramming Oloko from scratch using modern technology that completely eliminates the need for Flash Player. Since this is a lot of work and unforeseeable things can always happen, such as bugs, we dont want to commit to a precise date for the open beta yet. However, according to current estimates, we would like to start it towards the end of this year. Depending on progress, perhaps sooner or later."

What happens to Patreon members when Oloko is open to everyone?
Closed beta players will receive some rewards toward the end of the beta as a thank you for testing during development. Players who remain a member after the open beta launch will also be able to enjoy in-game benefits as a thank you, just like in Panfu.

Will Oloko be present on social media?
Absolutely! Were currently active on X (formerly Twitter), so feel free to check it out for exclusive insights. You can find the link in the menu above or at the end of this post ;)

Will we be allowed to film "Lets Plays" at some point?
This is permitted starting with the open beta.

Are users allowed to have their own blog that appears on your site (as in the original)
If fan blogs are created, we can also link them here in the blog after reviewing the content, just like in the original Oloko.

How do I apply to join the Oloko Mod Team?
We dont accept applications to join the moderator team. If the team notices players who are particularly well-received and need support, well contact them. For other open positions, please check the Joubgames.eu job page.

Will Oloko be 1:1 like before or will there be changes?
Most things will be exactly as you experienced them in the original Oloko version. Plants, quests, etc. However, some things will be slightly changed or improved. For example, there used to be three mobile apps for the shops, but now there will only be one. This means the three shops will be merged into one, so everything is clearly organized and in one place. The rooms for the shops will, of course, remain unchanged.

Will previously removed areas like Texa Relaxa and Dogville return? And will there be new quests or events?
These rooms are planned to be added to the closed beta at a later date. Unlike the original Oloko version, there will definitely be new events in the future. Several have already taken place in the closed beta. The next one will start very soon, so stay tuned ;)

And how can you play Oloko now?
To play Oloko now and participate in the closed beta, you must currently meet the following requirements:

-> Have an active Panfu.com account that has reached at least level 10.
-> Have an active Discord account linked to Panfu. (You can also get the access data & rules via the Discord)
-> Own and link a Panfu Patreon membership level 2 (Panfu Explorer) or higher.

The story of Oloko

Hello Olokians

Since Olokos return, weve often heard questions from the community about how its possible that we live on a turtle, and whether its always been this way. The answer is no, it hasnt always been this way. Im sure some of you can still remember your first day on Oloko. You were stranded on the turtle Oloko in a boat. There you met Olokos oldest companion, the wise tree.

Exactly, he told you that the island where the Olokians previously lived sank overnight, and the inhabitants lost everything they had ever built. Every Olokian should know their past well. Thats why the wise tree continues to tell you the story a little bit during you complete the quests on Oloko.

This is a very sad story, dear Olokans, but the curious among you who dont want to complete the quests first can read the full story now. Simply click on "How the Island Sinks" in the menu on the right side of the blog.
